Playwright, author and speaker Laurie Nienhaus will present a 45 minute dramatic program on the tactics of Alice Paul. Elections, for incumbents, have become formalities...and voters mere pawns.That could change after November if voters approve the revolutionary Amendments 5 and 6, which would prohibit the Legislature from gerrymandering political districts in 2012, when the next political maps are drawn. Instead, the lawmakers would be required to create ``compact and contiguous districts.'' FairDistrictsFlorida.org is a nonpartisan group of Florida citizens working to reform the way Florida draws legislative and Congressional district lines by establishing constitutionally mandated fairness standards. They aim to stop partisan favoritism and stop politicians from rigging districts to unfairly perpetuate their own political power. Amendments 5 & 6 will give Florida voters a real opportunity to fairly choose their representatives. Join us to learn more about these amendments and become an informed voter!
