Join the Collier County Democratic Club on Monday, July 16th 2012 at 6:00 PM at the headquarters of the Collier County Democratic Party (13040 Livingston Road, Suite 2) to discuss the upcoming Primary Election and the Affordable Care Act.
Tim Durham, Chief Deputy of the Collier County Supervisor of Elections Office, will present a Primer on the upcoming Primary. Find out which races registered Democrats can vote in and what you need to know about new polling places and times. Reminder: the last day to register to vote in the primary election is July 16th. John G. Lynch will discuss the Affordable Care Act that was recently upheld by the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Lynch will address the confusing messages being circulated about the ACA and the implications to Floridians of Governor Rick Scott opting out of healthcare reform.
Think you know what's in the Affordable Care Act? How much do you understand — or not understand — about the ACA's key provisions? The Kaiser Foundation has set up a quick online quiz to help you answer that question. When you're done taking it, you can compare how you did with other people in the country, as represented by the respondents to Kaiser's tracking poll.
